Automatically Back Up Your Files
You know backup is very important. So you have to setup an automatic system to backup your important files. People always forget something when they are busy, make backup automatic is so important.
In this tutorial I will show you how to create an automatic system to back up your important files with RoboBasket. I don't recommend to use this method to back up your music or movie collection. Though hard disk is very cheap these days, but backing up big size files like movies takes more time and it's not necessary. If you don't have RoboBasket installed yet you can download it from here.
Step 1: Create a rule
Open RoboBasket Settings Window and create a new rule in the rules pane as the figure shows. Add two actions:
- Copy to "Backup" folder
- Rename to "name-(date.current).extension"
Step 2: Test the rule
Click on the system tray menu and check the Show Basket Window item. Drag and drop "Documents" folder into the basket window to check the rule's result.
Step 3: Make it automatic
In the "Folders" pane add a folder and select the folder where the documents folder locates(e.g. your desktop). Make sure to apply the "Backup Documents" rule. Now RoboBasket will automatically back up your documents at specific time every day, you can recover any copy of documents folder by date
